Sinking of the Titanic foretold by a 1898 novel?

Could the Titanic sinking be foretold by a 1898 novel? The novel tells about a ship, the Titan, with wealthy and powerful people on its maiden voyage when it strikes an iceberg in the North Atlantic on an April night and sinks. Well, the Titanic was also on its maiden voyage on April 12, 1912. The Titan has a displacement of 70,000 tons and length 800 ft., the Titanic 74,00 tons and 882 ft. Both have a passenger capacity of about 3,000 and top speed of 75 knots. Both lacked sufficient lifeboats.

Hi Grim,

Thanks for the heads up about the "ad vertisements". I thought word verification should do it, but this is not my main blog, and moderating comments can be a hassel. Anyway, perhaps I should start.
